The ISRC is based around a comprehensive competition program conducted over three tests, which includes surf swim, surf board, surf ski and beach events. The event was first conducted in 1999. An overall point score will be maintained in both the Open Age and Youth categories with the winners being declared the respective Open and Youth 2019 International Surf Rescue Challenge Champions.
